Spread some fun on breakfast bagels by getting the kids to decorate with their favorite veggies!

Overview

Makes: 2 adult or 4 toddler portions
Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 2 whole-wheat bagels
  • 1/2 – 1 tbsp of cream cheese or favorite spread
  • Vegetable selection for topping
decorations (we like carrots, raisins, cucumbers, strawberries and celery sticks)

Method:

Take a whole-wheat bagel, slice in half and pop in the toaster.

Once your bagel is brown and crispy, spread the cream cheese on the top so it’s ready for decorating.

Once you’ve prepared your bagel base, place your choice of toppings on a plate or bowl for children to help themselves to and decorate their own bagels with.

Neat cheats

The only thing that makes this quicker is to skip toasting the bagel!

Make it together!

Children can spread the cream cheese and sprinkle with their own choice of toppings. An example toddler portion for this would be to use 1/4 – 1/2 of a bagel and 1/2 – 1 tbsp of cottage or ricotta cheese.

Messy fun! Sheena x
