Fruits and veggies galore!
Overview
Makes: 2 adult or 4 toddler portions
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- Mixed fruits (you choose)
- Mixed veg (you choose)
- Breadsticks on the side
Method:
Choose your colors!
Take your child out on a shopping trip and choose your favorite fruit and vegetables together.
When you get home, help them to chop and slice their chosen fruit and vegetables.
Next, get potting!
Pop a selection of fruits and vegetables into emptied out 4-ounce yogurt containers, or “pots”, and let your child know that they’re there for them to eat when they’re feeling hungry.
Offer breadsticks to provide a little starch and carbohydrate at the same time.
Neat cheats
Nothing could be simpler!
Make it together!
By including them in making up the pots, helping them to chop the fruit and vegetables and letting them choose what they’d like in them, you’ll introduce your child to some basic cooking skills as well as giving them a real sense of independence. An example toddler portion for this would be to use a 4-ounce yogurt container.
