A quick and simple breakfast, jazzed up with dried and fresh fruits.
Overview
Makes: 1 toddler portion
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp of porridge oats
- 1 tsp of dried mixed fruit (choose your own including dried sultanas, raisins or berries)
- 1/2 banana
- 3 ounces milk
Method:
Pop it in a bowl
If you have a microwave oven, put 2 tablespoons of porridge oats into a microwave safe bowl. Add the milk and give it a quick stir.
Heat it up
When you’re done, pop it in a microwave (650W) and cook for approximately 3 minutes. If you don’t have a microwave, you can also place the mix into a saucepan and cook on a moderate heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Get serving
Once you’ve made your porridge, get creative with some toppings! Sprinkle with raisins or other dried fruit, and fresh bananas. Add a little cold whole milk or yogurt for extra creaminess.
Neat cheats
Soaking the oats in milk and popping in the fridge overnight makes the porridge a lot quicker to cook.
Make it together!
Get your child to sprinkle their own fruit on top. An example toddler portion for this would be 2 – 5 tbsp of porridge (made up with milk) and 1/2 – 1 tbsp of mixed fruit.
