This is a top-voted dinner pick here at Ollie HQ, mixing very kid-friendly pasta bows with adult-friendly salmon filets. Everyone wins!
Overview
Makes: 2 adult or 4 toddler portions
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of pasta bows
- 2 small salmon filets, cooked
- Your choice of cooked vegetables – zuchini and tomatoes go well with this
- 1 tbsp of fromage frais or cottage cheese
Method:
Start by pouring the pasta bows into a pan of boiling water and cook according to the instructions (usually about 12 minutes) and drain once cooked.
While the pasta is cooking, cut tomatoes or other vegetables into small pieces.
Mix up the pasta and cooked vegetables, adding in a bit of cheese.
Finally, flake the cooked salmon filet and mix into the pasta. Top with garnish and seasoning of your choice!
Neat cheats
If you’re short on time, any canned fish will go well with this – salmon, pilchards, or sardines. Canned tuna can also be used but isn’t as rich in omega 3.
Make it together!
Once the pasta is drained and slightly cooled, children can be involved in mixing everything together. An example toddler portion for this would be 2 – 4 tbsp of pasta and 1/2 filet (1.5 – 2 ounces) of fish.
Messy fun! Sheena x
